About this speaker
Heidi Lovejoy is a U.S. American living abroad with her husband and two children since 2017. Having begun her second-language journey with Italian at age 33, Heidi quickly found herself making all the rookie learning mistakes and feeling crushed under the pressure of perfectionism. Through a journey of personal healing and growth, Heidi discovered that her perfectionist tendencies held a prohibitive strangle on her language learning experience. She has since moved country again, starting the journey all over with the German language. In this process, Heidi developed her own methods for working with her perfectionist tendencies as a language learner. She talks about this healing journey, as well as many other language learning struggles, on her podcast titled Love, Joy, and Languages.
